Full-Time Operations & Finance Manager

Mysten Labs believes that decentralized and open protocols are the bedrock of the internet of value. At Mysten Labs, we are creating foundational infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of decentralized protocols. As the Head of Operations and Finance for Walrus, you will create the department and implement a highly functional organizational structure, working closely with all department leads. This role is ideal for someone interested in Web3, thriving in a startup environment, and enjoys working on multiple projects. You'll have the ability to set up your own process and procedures.

Roles and responsibilities:

1. Develop and oversee key partner relationships for organizational operations.
2. Build financial strategy balancing Web3 complexities with day-to-day business needs.
3. Manage a treasury that may include multiple cryptocurrencies.
4. Manage various functions for smooth business operations, including regulatory compliance, risk management, information security, wallet management, etc.
5. Create and implement efficient and secure cross-team operational policies.
6. Ensure the Foundation runs smoothly. The organization will grow rapidly, so proactively identify and plan for needs and issues before they become emergencies.

Experience required:

• 5+ years of work experience in an operational role, preferably at a technology company or startup.
• Hands-on operational capabilities with advanced proficiency in Google Suite, MS Office, etc.
• Clear communication (verbal and written).
• Strong time and project management skills, building strong cross-functional relationships.
• Budget and accounting oversight experience.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn new tools (e.g., Notion, GitHub) and tasks (e.g., validator runbook).
