Job Details
The Advising and Retention Specialist promotes student success through comprehensive support, including academic advising, registration, financial aid, and healthcare compliance. Key point of contact for students, accountable for persistence by engaging students and removing barriers. Functions as a role model for TEACH values and Chamberlain CARE culture. Reports to the Supervisor/Manager of Advising and Retention Services.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with course registration, ensuring understanding of degree/practicum requirements.
- Advocate for academic, financial, and healthcare compliance needs. Monitor progress using analytics to identify at-risk scenarios.
- Partner with Student Support Liaison for seamless communication and timely issue resolution.
- Advise on university policies, self-service tools, and program requirements.
- Provide financial advising, monitor accounts, and offer guidance on financial eligibility.
- Track enrollment, persistence, and graduation information. Document interactions.
- Maintain understanding of Title IV and academic programs, policies, and procedures.
- Engage students through virtual appointments, calls, email, and SMS.
- Identify process and technology solutions to enhance student retention.
- Collaborate with other departments for optimal student experience.
- Respond to healthcare compliance inquiries.
- Support new student intake, answer questions, review program costs, and present funding options.
- Develop accurate financial plans and timelines.
