We are seeking a self-motivated, experienced part-time Finance Assistant to support the finance department.
The successful candidate will be proficient in financial tasks and excel in clear, concise communication with stakeholders. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will handle key finance functions.
This is a remote working role with monthly team meetings in London and access to a co-working space up to 2 or 3 days per week.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Purchase ledger management: invoice recording, management, payment, and reconciliation.
- Supplier invoice processing, authorisation, and payment.
- Supplier statement reconciliation and payment processing.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Inputting invoices into Sage.
- Sales ledger management: creating sales invoices, using payment portals, membership renewals.
- Reconciling web sales to online payment platforms (PayPal and Stripe).
- Manage and chase debtors.
- Expenses monitoring and recording.
- Ad-hoc support to Senior Finance Manager, including year-end audit and maintenance of the chart of accounts.
- Bank and control account reconciliations.
- Occasional attendance at PIMFA events.
Essential Skills:
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
- Understanding of accruals accounting.
- Proficiency in Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel (Intermediate level).
- Experience in a similar finance role (1-2 years).
- AAT Level 3 (or equivalent) accountancy qualification.
- AAT Level 2 (or equivalent) bookkeeping qualification.
