This is a contract opportunity. This is a hybrid opportunity in Boston, MA (must be based in Greater Boston).
About this Position
Launched in 2024 by Year Up United and MassBio in partnership with the City of Boston, the Life Sciences Career Alliance connects stakeholders across Greater Boston's life sciences workforce ecosystem to create sustainable systems that enhance employment outcomes for local talent and build a diverse, future-ready entry-level workforce pipeline for employers. We are seeking a Partnerships & Communications Manager to oversee and coordinate the external-facing activities for the Alliance, focusing on engaging employers, stakeholders, and training providers to develop and maintain strategic partnerships. This role involves creating and implementing communication strategies, managing social media channels, and building relationships with key external stakeholders to drive engagement and content-based sales efforts. The Manager will be responsible for managing high-quality external communications, including emails and meetings, in a fast-paced, startup environment. This is a hybrid position that will report to the Senior Director - Alliance Lead and must be based in the Greater Boston area.
Job Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Manage the Alliance's social media presence to enhance visibility and engagement across multiple platforms.
- Coordinate with internal marketing teams and external experts to develop, execute, and deliver campaigns, content, and communication materials.
- Collaborate on social media strategy to ensure content aligns with the Alliance’s objectives and enhances brand presence across platforms like LinkedIn, Meta, TikTok, and Instagram.
- Utilize a content-based sales approach to engage external stakeholders and drive communication efforts.
Employer & Training Provider Engagement
- Coordinate and support employer relationship development, including scheduling member introduction meetings and advisory council meetings.
- Facilitate the creation of networking opportunities between training providers and employers.
- Coordinate and support training provider relationship development, including scheduling meetings to foster collaboration and engagement
External Relationship Management
- Manage communication strategies for external stakeholders to enhance visibility and engagement in career programs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of marketing initiatives.
- Adapt quickly to new challenges in a startup environment and engage proactively with partners to drive success.
- Send high-quality external communications, including emails, that engage various audiences effectively.
- Meet with external stakeholders to build relationships and expand the network.
Tech & Social Media
- Oversee social media strategy and content creation on platforms like LinkedIn and X to engage external stakeholders and amplify the Alliance’s message.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure the strategic use of tech tools on the social media and marketing side.
- Integrate SEO strategies into email campaigns and content to improve visibility and engagement.
Skills/Requirements
Must be based in the Greater Boston area and have the ability to occasionally travel to YUU’s Downtown Boston office and local external events as needed.
3-5 years of experience in marketing, social media management, and content creation.
Ability to develop and execute communication strategies that increase visibility and external engagement.
Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of managing external relationships.
Demonstrated ability to adapt and deliver results in a flexible, fast-paced, and agile working environment, including adapting to new tech tools and strategies.
Experience in creating and sending high-quality, professional emails that effectively engage external audiences.
Proficiency in digital marketing and management of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Meta, etc.).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
Ability to thrive in a results-driven environment while focusing on external engagement.
Pay Range:
$35/hr
