Job Details
The Patient Collections Account Manager connects with individuals and helps them navigate dental billing. They tackle billing complications and negotiate payment arrangements. Success is measured by a reduction in A/R balances.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Account Management: Provide collection support to execute A/R goals, review accounts past 60 days, maintain accurate records.
- Patient Communication: Contact patients via phone, email, text and mail to discuss balances and options.
- Payment Processing: Collect payment plans or re-negotiate options. Process payments accurately.
- Billing and Claims Resolution: Collaborate to resolve discrepancies and billing issues. Follow up on unpaid claims and appeal denials.
- Reporting and Documentation: Generate reports, send patient statements, ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members, develop office relationships, and participate in meetings.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in dental billing, collections, or related field.
- Strong understanding of dental billing and insurance processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Working Conditions: Office environment. Prolonged sitting. Minimal travel.
