Full-Time Performance Engineer

QAD is seeking a Performance Engineer to ensure the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our SaaS product running on Amazon EKS and our bare metal server-based product running in cloud environments.

You will be responsible for performance testing, benchmarking, profiling, sizing and tuning across both EKS and bare-metal infrastructures using tools like JMeter, python and Datadog. Our team is dedicated to ensuring the performance benchmarking and scalability of QAD products.

Responsibilities:

• Design and execute load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests for EKS-based SaaS and bare-metal environments.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in applications and infrastructure.
• Conduct holistic analysis of server-side resources and key product areas.
• Investigate and resolve complex performance issues affecting customers.
• Develop performance testing scripts using JMeter, k6, or Python.
• Write Linux scripts to extract meaningful performance data when required.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product scalability.
• Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a performance engineering role.
• Experience in performance testing tools
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with Linux/UNIX and scripting.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently, think critically, and solve complex technical issues.
• Experience in medium to large organizations with performance-focused roles.
• Strong debugging skills and an analytical approach to problem-solving.

Valued Skills and Knowledge

• Experience with EKS and cloud-based performance benchmarking and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Datadog or equivalent for monitoring and observability.
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, k6 or equivalent).
• Knowledge of databases (MariaDB, OpenEdge) and basic database operations.
• Expertise in enterprise-level Linux environments.
• Scripting proficiency in Python, AWK, or similar languages.
• Experience working in agile environments with iterative testing.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools for data analysis.
