Full-Time Platform Engineer

About Raptor Maps:Solar power is the largest source of new energy. Raptor Maps is a fast-growing climate tech startup building software to enable the solar energy industry to scale. Parties across the entire solar lifecycle use Raptor Maps’ data model to manage utility-scale solar portfolios. We have hundreds of customers and 200+ million solar panels under management.

Role Summary:Seeking a talented Platform Engineer to develop and execute our cloud infrastructure strategy. You'll be a hands-on leader, comfortable implementing and developing teammate skills, passionate about security and developer experience. This role will scale and harden our cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Create/maintain automation for code & data across environments.
• Maintain high availability of production & non-production via metrics, monitoring, and incident response.
• Ensure developers can easily create/manage infrastructure.
• Collaborate on new services and technologies.
• Roll out new tools/processes to development teams.
• Re-platform applications to robust cloud native patterns (Python/Typescript).
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical web systems.

Qualifications:

• Intellectually curious, love learning quickly, ask questions.
• Proficient in diverse fields, adaptable.
• Highly motivated, enjoy impacting a driven team.
• 2+ years infrastructure automation experience (ideally with AWS).
• CI/CD pipelines to shorten feedback loop.
• Experience with security frameworks (e.g., SOC2).
• Docker, ECS/Kubernetes experience.
• Infrastructure as Code (e.g., AWS CDK, Terraform).
• Supporting multiple development teams.
• Re-platforming applications using cloud native patterns.
• Data engineering concepts (storage, pipelines, automation); data science familiarity is a bonus.
