Full-Time Platform Site Reliability Engineer

Nexthink is seeking a strong Platform Engineer with SRE operations experience to bolster infrastructure and enhance deployment, monitoring, and scaling capabilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, build, and maintain infrastructure for the multi-tenant SaaS platform with reliability, security, and scalability in mind.
2. Implement and manage cloud-native systems (AWS), utilizing best-in-class tools and automation.
3. Operate and enhance Kubernetes clusters, deployment pipelines, and service meshes to support continuous delivery.
4. Establish and enforce SLOs, SLAs, and error budgets, addressing availability and performance issues proactively.
5. Develop infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar) for repeatable and auditable provisioning.
6. Utilize programming for platform tools (automation, monitoring, provisioning).
7. Have a strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, VPN, HTTP, SSL, routing), cloud topologies (VPC, subnets, security groups), and storage (S3, EBS, Azure Files).
8. Monitor system health, application performance, and user-facing SLAs using tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana.
9. Improve incident response, reducing MTTD and MTTR.
10. Troubleshoot and resolve incidents with minimal intervention from other teams.
11. Participate in on-call rotation to handle critical incidents, address outages, and communicate effectively.
12. Collaborate with software engineers to embed reliability and observability into services.
13. Develop automated runbooks, health checks, and alerts to support reliable operations.
14. Support automated testing, canary deployments, and rollback strategies to ensure safe releases.
15. Contribute to security best practices, compliance automation, and cost optimization.

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science/Engineering
• 5+ years of SRE/platform engineering experience supporting SaaS platforms
• Strong hands-on experience with public cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, container-based deployment, and containerized microservices
• Strong programming/scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD)
• Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, ELK/EFK, Datadog)
• Comfort with on-call schedule and handling critical incidents
• Strong system-level troubleshooting skills and a proactive mindset
• Deep understanding of Linux systems, networking, and troubleshooting
• Experience supporting multi-tenant microservices architectures
• Familiarity with service mesh (e.g., Istio)
• Knowledge of zero-downtime deployment strategies (blue/green, canary)
• Exposure to compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, FedRAMP)
• Experience with chaos engineering or resilience testing (preferred)
