What You’ll Do We are seeking an experienced and dynamic PMO Practice Director to lead our PMO team. This senior role, which reports to our Chief Strategy Officer, involves overseeing PMO capabilities continually improving customer success, enabling and empowering people to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives with individuals and teams to continuously improve PMO maturity and delivery excellence for our customers. Candidates with global, enterprise experience with PMO concepts and teams will be strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Project Management Office, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Oversee the portfolio management processes, ensuring successful delivery of projects within scope, time, budget, and customer satisfaction.
- Implement and promote Agile methodologies to enhance project efficiency and adaptability.
- Drive transformation initiatives by improving KPIs and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and programs.
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to project managers and team members.
- Accountable for the PMO team’s financial targets through effective hiring, staffing, delivery efficiency, and supporting pre-sales scenarios where PMO staffing opportunities or PMO differentiators are required for discussions and proposals.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Project Management, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in portfolio, program, and project management, across multiple methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proven record of accomplishment of leading teams through transformation initiatives and improving KPIs.
- Led large teams, developed their people, and drove change throughout the team and organization.
- Balance of PMP structure and a "scrappy" entrepreneurial mindset.
- Extensive experience managing enterprise-level programs and projects on a global scale.
- Consulting experience desired.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Travel is possible, but expected to be < 10% of the role.
Preferred Skills
- Relevant PMI certifications are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrates a high degree of confidence in interacting with C-level executives.
- Understand how to manage, shape, and deliver artifacts both "up" and "down" with a team, program, and/or project.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools (e.g., Dynamics 365 Project Operations, JIRA, Trello, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of technology concepts, ideally with a background of successful delivery of multiple complex technology transformation initiatives.
- Organizational change management certifications are a plus but demonstrated experience with organizational change management concepts is strongly desired.
