Full-Time Postgresql DBA

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator with expertise in PostgreSQL and cloud-based systems, especially AWS. Strong experience in database architecture, optimization, and maintenance is essential, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability. This role involves integration into DevOps practices, emphasizing automation, infrastructure as code, and database integration in modern CI/CD pipelines.

1. Database Architecture: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance database systems.
2. Optimization: Enhance database performance via indexing, query optimization, and schema improvements.
3. Automation: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for database deployment and management using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
4. Monitoring: Configure and manage database monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to ensure system health and availability.
5. Security: Implement and maintain robust database security measures, including access control, encryption, and compliance adherence.
6. Backup & Recovery: Develop and manage database backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
7. Scaling: Plan and execute scaling strategies for high-traffic environments.
8. Teamwork: Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate database systems into scalable, automated infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in database administration with expertise in cloud environments (AWS)
• Proven track record managing large-scale production database systems
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL (or MySQL)
• Experience with database monitoring, performance tuning, and query optimization
• Familiarity with AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift)
• Expertise in scripting (Python, Bash) for automation
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience or interest in DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform)
