Crowell & Moring LLP is an international law firm representing clients in litigation, arbitration, regulatory matters, intellectual property, and transactions.
Job Summary: Manages pricing and legal project management (LPM) within the firm. Focuses on internal communication, training, and strategy development for pricing and LPM initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Researches market trends to recommend improvements and avoid pitfalls in the legal industry.
- Develops and maintains pricing and LPM presentations and training materials.
- Conducts presentations, orientations, and training to advance pricing and LPM best practices.
- Trains and supports partners in year-end rate and fee negotiation, focusing on strategic client negotiations.
- Creates best practice resources for partners (engagement terms, budgets, rates, alternative fee menus).
- Assists partners with RFP responses, client requests, and client outreach with pricing and LPM recommendations.
- Analyzes profitability metrics and provides improvement recommendations to partners and practice group leaders.
- Liaises with the Rates team to ensure successful implementation of complex pricing engagements and collaboration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Advanced knowledge of various areas of law.
- Proficiency with firm and industry systems (3E, Data Insights, Lex Machina, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across the firm.
- Ability to delegate effectively and manage deadlines.
- Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and financial data analysis.
- Adaptability to changing priorities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of directly related experience, including regular supervision of others.
- Experience in the legal industry preferred.
Compensation: $115,000 - $175,000 base salary + bonus.
