Full-Time Principal Data Scientist

TrustedHousesitters is a global pet care travel exchange, a double-sided digital marketplace of owners and sitters growing rapidly. We facilitate perfect matches between pet owners and sitters.

We're in scale-up mode, consistently achieving high year-on-year growth. The role is pivotal in shaping the company's data strategy and analytics.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineering on scalable data pipelines & storage.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends & actionable insights.
• Design dashboards, reports, and visualizations for key stakeholders.
• Build predictive & prescriptive models (e.g., customer segmentation, recommendations).
• Deploy & monitor models in production, ensuring reliability.
• Advocate for data-driven decision-making.
• Define best practices for data science workflows.
• Mentor & guide future data science hires.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Math, Stats, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a data science role, ideally in a high-growth B2C environment.
• Proficiency in Python/R for data analysis.
• Expertise in SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Proven ability to frame business problems & translate them into data-driven solutions.
• Strong statistical knowledge and experience with machine learning techniques.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-starter with a passion for building systems.
