Your future team:As a Principal Design Engineer within the Client's core engineering team, you will take on a leading role in overseeing and ensuring the technical integrity and engineering direction of multiple projects.
Your missions:
- Manage engineering processes, ensuring all requirements are captured, understood, and integrated with stakeholders.
- Offer technical expertise across project and programme-wide engineering issues.
- Ensure projects are established with appropriate engineering management frameworks and followed consistently.
- Facilitate requirement capture and management from stakeholders, integrating into design and delivery.
- Provide high-level engineering support to project teams, resolving technical challenges and upholding engineering principles.
- Contribute to the wider technical and engineering assurance, ensuring design solutions are safe, compliant, and deliverable.
- Quickly identify root causes of engineering challenges and implement solutions.
- Maintain understanding of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) and Nuclear Safety.

Qualifications/Skills:
- Degree qualified in a core engineering discipline
- Chartered Engineer status
- Proven experience in delivering projects using structured design processes, aligned with the RIBA 4 stages of work.
- Extensive experience in managing complex engineering and construction projects.
- Ability to distil complex engineering challenges and provide practical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills
- In-depth understanding of CDM regulations and Nuclear Safety requirements
Security:
Sole UK national with BPSS or ideally SC security clearance.
Working pattern:
Able to be based from home with an expectation to attend Client site in Plymouth once every 3-4 weeks for 2-3 days at a time.
