Principal DevOps / Cloud Engineer (Azure Migration) · LATAM
We're partnering with a leading US-based company on a major cloud transformation initiative. This is an opportunity to take technical ownership of building a secure, scalable Azure environment from the ground up, helping to shape critical infrastructure decisions from day one.
You'll join a small team of senior and principal-level engineers focused on designing and implementing a greenfield Azure setup that complements an existing AWS-based data platform and application architecture.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Analyze an existing AWS lakehouse and application stack to map out Azure equivalents
- Make key early decisions around Azure services for data, compute, networking, and security
- Design and build the Azure landing zone, including core infrastructure components
- Lead initial hands-on implementation (this role requires deep technical involvement, not just architecture)
- Drive best practices for cost efficiency, scalability, and compliance
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams to ensure smooth integration between platforms
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members as the project scales
What You Bring
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure roles
- Strong background with Azure architecture and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or Bicep preferred)
- Experience designing and building Azure landing zones and managing enterprise-grade cloud deployments
- Solid understanding of AWS services (to translate to Azure equivalents)
- Hands-on skills with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and scripting (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Familiarity with security best practices, identity/access models, and data governance in cloud environments
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Fluent in English (B2+ level minimum)
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in cloud-to-cloud migrations (AWS to Azure or hybrid)
- Knowledge of modern data platforms (e.g. lakehouses, data lakes, Snowflake, Synapse, etc.)
- Certifications in Azure Architecture or DevOps
