The Principal Platform Architect is a technical advisory role, responsible for helping customers establish a strong technical foundation in the ServiceNow Platform and design solutions.
This involves establishing and supporting best practices around instance strategy, technical governance, core data, integrations, and overall platform health.
This is a highly consultative role, not performing platform configurations, but guiding partner and customer resources.
This role interfaces with customers across executive, platform owner, enterprise architects, and development teams during the selling, structuring, and implementation of solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing strong relationships with CIOs and business leaders to understand client vision and ServiceNow's role in digital transformation.
- Translating business objectives into a customer roadmap.
- Enterprise architecture: analyzing and translating business information and technical requirements into architectural blueprints for complex business objectives.
- Engaging with customer enterprise architects to position ServiceNow as the digital transformation platform.
- Establishing and managing technical governance processes.
- Driving instance health by reviewing and guiding remediation of configurations.
- Establishing delivery operating model governance for successful go-lives, adoption, and ongoing support.
- Advocating ServiceNow's best practices and industry use cases.
- Contributing thought leadership on how Advisory, Expert Services, and Co-Delivery optimize customer outcomes.
- Guiding prescriptive solution design and managing technical implementation decisions.
- Defining platform solutions aligned with out-of-the-box capabilities.
- Supporting sales efforts in scoping and estimation.
Required qualifications include:
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency, residing in Canada
- Bilingual in English & French (preferred)
- 8+ years of management consulting leadership, focused on technology (Digital/SaaS/Enterprise Software)
- Consulting experience (Big 4, Strategy Firm, or OEM software/cloud company)
- Fortune 500 or OEM software/cloud company enterprise architect experience
- Career progression in technical architecture
- Experience with functional business leaders
- Experience identifying business objectives and developing outcome-focused roadmaps
- Experience working with large consulting/SI organizations
- 10+ years of large program experience leading architecture and design
- Enterprise Architecture experience and relevant experience
- Enterprise Architect certification (TOGAF, IT4IT, etc.)
- Database, core data design, Security, integrations experience
- Cloud application technology experience (SFDC, Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle Cloud, Remedy)
- 2+ years of ServiceNow Platform experience
- Cloud platform certifications
- Familiarity with Enterprise Workflow Platform
