Full-Time Principal Software Development Engineer, Big Data

In this role you will provide the technical leadership to oversee the development, rollout and adoption of Customer North Star architecture. 

YOU WILL GET TO: 

• Design and development of Customer North Star architecture and platform components.
• Collaborate across ZG stakeholders e.g. with product domains, marketing, AI teams to drive the development and adoption of Customer Data.
• Lead the Customer Data Steering Committee overseeing the governance of Customer Data across ZG.
• Responsible for driving the data governance and quality efforts.
• Develop frameworks, ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation and syndication.
• Collaborate with the Data Platform team to drive solutions around data governance, ETL development, etc.
• Leading the initiatives to do build vs. buy decisions.
• Driving Self-Service initiative around usage of customer data.
• Evangelise, speaking publicly at conferences, meetups etc.
• Working on outlining the Customer Data strategy for 3-5 years.
• Working with multiple stakeholders on outlining requirements and developing DB designs.
• Leading the cost optimization effort.
• Leading the code reviews and outline engineering excellence standards across the team.
• Mentor the next generation of tech leaders.

Who you are

• Strong knowledge in Customer Data space.
• A big data specialist with experience building and maintaining highly sophisticated, reliable, and scalable data pipelines.
• Strong background in Scala or Java or Python.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, Flink, Kafka, GraphQL and DynamoDB.
• You have worked with large volumes of data in realtime and batch.
• Passionate about Data Quality, Privacy and Security.
• Have worked in a highly collaborative environment interacting with a lot of customers and stakeholders.
• Strong Technical leadership skills and have led the development and delivery of multiple E2E solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Relational and NoSQL databases like MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server, Redis, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, RedShift, and stores like HDFS and S3
• Event streaming (e.g. Kafka, Flink, Kinesis) and real time processing (Flink, Spark streaming)
• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent work experience
