MINT MOBILE is seeking a talented Principal Technical Product Manager (Billing & Charging) to join the Product & PMO Team!
Individual reports to VP, Product Management.
Role is remote - must reside in the United States.
As part of Mint Mobile’s Product Management Team, you will specialize in the support and development of brand-agnostic platforms to ensure business growth and stability.
You will lead a team of Product specialists in billing, financial systems, rate plans, promotions, offers, and taxation. You will provide direction and mentoring, maturing processes and growing the internal knowledge base.
Partner with Finance, Engineering, and PMO to manage the billing system roadmap, producing requirements and design direction. Lead future integrations or migrations.
Partner with Engineering, Tech Ops, Revenue Assurance, and other teams to monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive reliability improvements.
Join an established team of Product experts who champion our brands and use data-driven decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Key liaison to Finance, directing team support for Finance initiatives (new platforms, revenue optimization).
- Gather requirements for billing system initiatives.
- Produce diagrams and artifacts for translating Finance requirements into Engineering blueprints.
- Factor current system state and industry best practices into roadmap recommendations.
- Support Finance's operational needs (GAAP compliance, payment processor requirements).
- Partner with operational teams to capture and incorporate requirements into program requirements.
- Manage a team of Product Managers / Product Owners, mentoring and setting vision/strategy for roadmap execution.
- Partner with the Retention Marketing team to define and manage technical roadmaps for promotions and offers.
- Present complex analytical findings in a clear manner to impact decision-making.
- Build consensus and achieve buy-in across the organization.
- Coordinate with solutions architects and developers to ensure product requirements align with system architecture.
- Work with product owners, scrum masters, and release train engineers to optimize output and sequencing.
- Factor existing production defects into backlog prioritization for resolution.
- Collaborate to create and communicate release schedules.
- Produce BRDs and FRDs to document program requirements.
- Meet regularly with other Product team members to prioritize efforts.
- Develop deep understanding of customer experience, including activations, renewals, payments, network features, devices, and retailer integrations.
- Transform complex inputs into actionable recommendations.
- Produce flow diagrams for customer journeys and system processes.
- Maintain deep knowledge of underlying technologies and interpret API specs, sequence diagrams, and database schemas.
- Meet with 3rd-party providers to identify partnership opportunities and implement integrations.
- Perform UAT for new features and services.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify innovation opportunities.
- Generate and maintain dashboards and reports tracking product health and success metrics.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis to support decision-making.
- Ensure platform adherence to internal and external KPIs, compliance, and governance processes.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate and influence at Director/VP level.
- Drive ad hoc analysis and present to VP level.
- Present new product or business opportunities in cross-functional meetings.
- Manage vendor relationships (contract negotiations, onboarding, etc.).
- Support Product Management leadership on special projects and roadmap objectives.
- Mentor and coach other Product Management staff.
- Create clear and measurable goals aligned with company objectives.
- Regularly observe direct reports and provide feedback.
- Develop formal and informal performance reviews.
