The Motional Technical Program Management team is seeking an experienced Infrastructure TPM to drive integrated software programs. Requires strong collaboration and management across infrastructure, systems, autonomy, embedded software, hardware, operations, and testing teams to achieve program-level activities and milestones.
Role Responsibilities:
- Partner with engineering leaders to drive successful infrastructure program execution and team velocity across cross-functional teams and departments.
- Act as a proxy in program and organizational matters to help engineering leads scale.
- Ensure the organization’s technical roadmap is understood and programs/staffing are aligned.
- Manage, unblock, and accelerate cross-team projects.
- Instill efficient project management mindset and workflow.
- Identify program risks and mitigations, developing action plans and driving escalations to closure.
- Partner with engineering leaders to scope, staff, and deliver capabilities to achieve company milestones.
- Perform value stream mapping to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Track and communicate program progress.
- Define efficient processes for communicating program status.
- Communicate with leadership regularly, contributing to executive deliverables, and providing analyses and recommendations.
- Remove obstacles, identify communication/schedule gaps, manage escalations, and support teams balancing competing priorities.
- Understand technical implementation at the architectural level, proposing technical alternatives and clarifying priorities.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with software developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, cloud applications, virtual tools, testing/simulation, and software release process.
- Extensive experience managing stakeholder inputs at multiple levels.
- Ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
- Minimum 5 years in robotics, autonomy, or embedded software.
- Knowledge of general autonomous system software and hardware (perception, simulation, hardware).
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field.
- Strong written/oral communication skills (communicating complex engineering issues to a diverse team).
- Strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-time zone environment.
