Full-Time Principal Trails Lead

Hume City Council is seeking a Principal Trails Lead to join Hume's Open Space Planning team.

In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of Hume's trail network.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead and support the planning of Hume’s trail network.
• Identify stakeholders and legislative requirements.
• Manage a multi-year capital works program for trail development.
• Identify and scope site considerations and design documentation needs.
• Establish project budgets and seek funding.
• Coordinate a trail development program.
• Develop funding bids and monitor project budgets.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

• Experience in trail and open space planning and policy development.
• Proficiency in trail and open space principles.
• Understanding of trail provision issues.
• Knowledge of Open Space Planning Unit goals.
• Ability to collate and analyse data.
• Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability in report writing and grant submissions.
• Understanding of community capacity in project partnering.

Required Certifications & Qualifications:

• Degree or Diploma in landscape architecture, open space/recreation planning, or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of trail and open space planning issues.
• Experience in trail and open space development.
• Experience in managing multiple disciplines.
• Experience working with stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
• Experience in community consultation processes.
• A current Victorian Driver’s Licence is required.
