Job Details
The Project Cost Engineer will:
- Develop technical variable and tooling costs for “steel tubing” components and systems using activity-based costing methodologies.
- Work from BOM (Bill of Materials), drawings and/or samples.
- Provide subject matter expertise to support engineering and purchasing.
- Support executive leadership through all development phases.
- Analyze supplier quotes and reach agreement on appropriate EDD.
- Interact with the team in Design to Cost initiatives and benchmarking.
- Understand the elements of piece cost and investment for various manufacturing processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Business, Finance, Engineering or Manufacturing from ABET accredited university
- Experience in design, release or processing role.
- Experience in developing EDD, variable and/or tooling costs for automotive components.
- Knowledge of TPC and automotive propulsion systems & components
- Fluent English & Good level of Excel and Power point knowledge
- Proactive approach and great team player
- More than 3 years of experience in the role
- Legal to work in Mexico
