Project Management Consultant Role: Integrating within the Project Portfolio Unit (DDPM), the consultant supports UNICC's deliverables.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning, executing, and controlling projects (internal/external/components of larger projects).
- Delivering projects on time, within scope, and budget.
- Managing scope, schedule, and cost changes.
- Managing project issues and risks.
- Managing project resources and costs.
- Monitoring project progress and performance using appropriate tools.
- Creating and maintaining project documentation throughout the lifecycle.
- Executing project closure (transition, financial, lessons learned).
- Evaluating project outcomes.
- Managing a complex project portfolio.
- Managing project delivery, informing stakeholders on critical decisions.
- Collaborating with technical leads to develop plans and estimate requirements.
- Ensuring effective project team coordination and communication.
- Ensuring correct time and budget tracking.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Essential:
- 15+ years IT work experience
- Significant experience managing IT projects (Agile/Scrum, Prince2/PMI)
- Experience coordinating projects in multi-cultural environments
- Experience collaborating with remote teams
- Desirable:
- Office 365, Exchange Messaging/Migration
- Infrastructure, ERP, Cloud Hosting/Migration
- Software Development, Blockchain, Automation, Data & Analytics, ServiceNow
- Agile development tools (Jira)
- Technical documentation skills
- Product management/governance experience
- Education:
- Advanced university degree in relevant field (IT, CS, IS).
- First-level degree plus 4 years of experience acceptable.
- Certifications:
- PRINCE2 Practitioner/Program Management (MSP) desired
- Languages:
- Expert English required
- Other UN official language beneficial.

Compensation: National Officer scales or Individual Consultancy band levels.
