Job Details
Psychiatrist is responsible for consulting with program leadership and the operations team to ensure appropriate psychiatric/pharmacological interventions.
Completes an initial thorough evaluation and sees each patient weekly thereafter. Prescribes and monitors medications weekly, if indicated.
Consults with the treatment team as needed and attends weekly treatment planning meetings.
- Developing appropriate and effective psychopharmacological interventions for psychiatric disorders.
- Interfacing with families of patients for consent and support of psychopharmacological interventions.
- Identifying, conceptualizing and communicating treatment criteria specific to the level of treatment and formulating effective insurance appeals.
- Interfacing effectively with the treatment team, contributing to the case conceptualization, treatment plan and assessing the ongoing effectiveness of the interventions.
- Meeting regularly with program leadership to discuss individual treatment progress.
- Acting on behalf of the treatment program when called upon; interactions may include insurance companies, licensing, and accreditation bodies.
- Seeing individual clients weekly to monitor progress.
- Documenting notes in the EMR system.
- Providing second opinion evaluations when needed.
- Assisting program treatment staff in treatment planning.
- Providing medical direction to the treatment team.
We are seeking psychiatrists at multiple programs and levels of care.
- Eating Disorder Outpatient
Qualifications:
Qualified psychiatrist with experience in adolescent psychiatry (if indicated).
- Graduate of an approved medical school and hold a current license in the state of practice.
- Eligible for membership in the local branch of the State Medical Society.
