Psychiatrist Responsibilities:
Consult with program leadership and operations team to ensure appropriate psychiatric/pharmacological interventions. Conduct initial thorough evaluation and weekly patient follow-up. Prescribe and monitor medications weekly, if indicated. Consult with treatment team as needed and attend weekly treatment planning meetings.
- Develop effective psychopharmacological interventions.
- Interface with patient families for consent and support.
- Identify, conceptualize, communicate treatment level criteria and formulate insurance appeals.
- Collaborate with the treatment team in case conceptualization, treatment planning, and assessing intervention effectiveness.
- Regularly discuss individual treatment progress with program leadership.
- Represent treatment program with insurance companies, licensing, and accreditation bodies.
- Monitor patient progress in weekly individual sessions.
- Document notes in the EMR system.
- Provide second opinion evaluations if needed.
- Assist treatment staff in treatment planning.
- Provide medical direction to the treatment team.
