About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Public Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise across Windows, Unix/Linux, and networking environments. This role is responsible for implementing, and maintaining core infrastructure systems that ensure high availability, performance, and security across our Public Cloud Enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise infrastructure spanning Windows and Unix/Linux systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows 2016/2019/2022
- Create and manage user accounts, groups, and organizational units (OUs).
- Perform system patching and Windows Update management
- Manage system startup services.
- Troubleshoot system errors, event logs, and service dependencies.
- Configure TCP/IP networking, VLANs, static routing, and NIC teaming.
- Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux servers
- Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux distributions (Oracle Linux, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu,).
- Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and sudo policies.
- Implement and maintain SSH key management and access control.
- Apply system patches and OS upgrades with minimal downtime.
- Configure and maintain cron jobs and scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Mount, unmount, and manage NFS, SMB, or iSCSI shares
- Configure network interfaces, IP routes, VLANs, and bonding/teaming
- Use tools like top, htop, vmstat, iostat, sar, dstat, and nmon for performance diagnostics.
- Configure and maintain core network services, including Virtual Traffic Managers (VTM), switches, firewalls (Azure, OCI, PALO) and load balancers.
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex system, network, and performance issues across heterogeneous environments.
- Support infrastructure automation and configuration management initiatives (e.g., using Ansible, PowerShell, Bash and Terraform).
- Collaborate with Security teams to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.
- Provide support and technical mentorship to junior engineers
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience in IT infrastructure engineering or systems administration.
- Strong proficiency with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
- Advanced experience with Unix/Linux systems (Oracle Linux, RHEL, Ubuntu).
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, routing, firewalls, and load balancing and VPNs.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or OCI) is highly desirable.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python and Terraform
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
