Q&Q Director (Downstream), OGC Responsibilities:
Manage and operate the OGC Downstream business nationally. Communicate safety goals (KPIs) and operating performance, ensuring understanding by Regional Managers and teams.
Ensure teams have safety and environmental performance systems/processes.
Lead the operations team to zero recordable and near-miss incidents using SGS or customer safety programs.
Demonstrate safe work habits and enforce a clean working environment.
Lead, coach, and develop a safety-driven, quality-oriented, business-focused team.
Oversee Operational Quality, processes, and consistency across Canada, with Operations Excellence Integration Manager support.
Achieve budget targets (Revenue, Local Contribution, etc.) for OGC Downstream Q&Q.
Ensure Regional Managers manage locations cost-effectively and deliver services to meet client needs.
Support Regional Managers in Customer Quarterly Review Meetings.
Achieve/exceed operational KPIs; review regional business plans for budget/Q&Q strategic growth.
Collaborate with Business Development for SGS OGC business growth.
Support Regional Managers with staffing and succession planning.
Recognize team successes; handle claims/customer complaints with OGC Management.
Support Regional Managers in employee performance issues.
Identify operational efficiencies with Regional Managers and customers.
Conduct field visits/validate & verify at Q&Q Canada sites (at least annually).
Complete country reports linked to Downstream, ensuring Regional Managers meet requirements (HSE, Financials, Quality, etc.).
Operate ethically, adhering to SGS Code of Integrity.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Business Management, or related field.
- Over 15 years of operations/management experience with responsibility for >200 employees and >$15M budget.
- Extensive experience interacting with senior management.
- Hybrid role: 75% WFH, 25% travel.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and technical staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Business and profit-minded, with technical know-how.
- Strong interpersonal, report writing, and communication skills (English, French is a plus).
- Proficiency in business software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
