Part-Time Remote PT Instructional Designer - Higher Ed

Design and develop instructional materials for online, hybrid, and face-to-face healthcare courses.

Implement program and course offerings, evaluating effectiveness and suggesting improvements.

Develop courses within the institution's LMS.

Prepare course components (overview, syllabus, learning outcomes, content, assessments, activities).

Create, publish, and manage eLearning content.

Design instructional materials for various formats (instructor-led, online, web-based).

Attend curriculum committee meetings, implementing approved changes.

Collaborate with subject matter experts.

Facilitate effective instructional approaches in online course design.

Select suitable course materials, ensuring quality standards.

Develop instructional and training materials.

Operate within a flexible, dynamic course production framework.

Deliver courses per schedule and budget.

Follow a course design model reflecting best practices.

Contribute to ongoing documentation, training, and knowledgebases.

Write and copy edit content for accuracy and style.

Manage edits and revisions, ensuring content quality.

Project manage course development from inception to completion, communicating progress to VP.

Participate in team planning sessions.

Test and pilot new educational tools and learning platform features, recommending applications.

Keep abreast of emerging trends (copyright, accessibility, open educational resources).

Other duties as assigned.

Possible hybrid modality in the future.

Hourly pay range: $30 (minimum), $32.50 (midpoint), $35 (maximum).

Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree/certificate in instructional design or related field
• Minimum 2 years' experience designing and delivering higher education courses
• Experience with instructional design and technology, multimedia authoring
• Strong writing abilities (copy, instructional text, audio/video scripts)
• Knowledge of learning theories, instructional design models
• Course development software and LMS experience (Canvas preferred)
• Project management skills
• Interpersonal and decision-making skills
• Excellent customer service and detail-oriented
• 4+ years applying learning theory to online course development
• Experience in higher education administration (preferred)
• Experience with accessible technologies and online learning regulations
