Revenue Cycle Analyst
Job Summary
Performs financial analyses supporting revenue cycle operations. Develops dashboards/reports tracking KPIs, metrics, and financial opportunities. Assists revenue cycle leaders in collaborating with stakeholders to improve financial performance.
What you will do
- Analyzes financial/revenue cycle performance identifying trends/root causes.
- Completes regular root cause analysis of financial transactions.
- Monitors KPIs and explores reasons for performance fluctuations.
- Prepares summary findings for leadership review.
- Examines historical/projected data to inform operational decisions.
- Utilizes revenue cycle applications, workflows, and regulatory policies in analytic evaluations.
- Cultivates internal relationships understanding department workflows.
- Engages with revenue cycle managers/directors on improvement opportunities.
- Analyzes, prepares, and coordinates distribution of financial reports for internal/external use.
- Maintains financial databases/records.
- Develops/manipulates large data sets.
- Provides analytics for/supports special projects.
Education Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Required Experience Qualifications
3+ years progressively responsible, directly related experience. Prior experience in revenue management, patient financial services, or health information systems preferred.
1-2 years statistical analysis experience.
1-2 years Hospital Billing experience.

- Communicating complex concepts simply to non-finance users.

- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of hospital/physician revenue cycle methodology.
- Knowledge of hospital information systems (e.g., Epic).
- Knowledge of business analytical practices/methodologies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (especially Excel).
Licenses and Certifications
HFMA - Certified Rev Cycle Rep (CRCR) preferred.
