Job Details

Rheumatology Medical Director, North America Medical Affairs supports medical business goals and objectives for the product in development.

Provides strategic leadership and tactical execution in support of the Medical Affairs Plan.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic and scientific medical input for the Rheumatology product in development.
  2. Become a disease state and product expert, providing feedback and insights to medical affairs deliverables.
  3. Collaborate with the Associate Medical Director and Senior Medical Director to design and implement Medical Affairs plans.
  4. Work closely with medical field teams to develop/enhance KOL and key institution engagement plans.
  5. Participate in KOL engagement and development.
  6. Establish Sobi Inc. as a scientific partner of choice.
  7. Create and execute advisory boards and other educational activities (e.g., webinars, medical roundtables, symposiums, congress presence).
  8. Develop US evidence generation strategy with the Senior Medical Director.
  9. Address stakeholder (HCPs, payers, and patients) needs.
  10. Collaborate with HEOR and global partners on product differentiation and health outcomes.
  11. Drive publication planning and key scientific communications.
  12. Develop and foster strong cross-collaborative relationships with internal partners (e.g., Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, Market Access, Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance, Sales, and Marketing).
  13. Support the market access team as needed.
  14. Interact with Key Opinion Leaders, Regulatory Authorities, and external agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD) in life sciences
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience
  • 2+ years in non-field-based roles (ideally Medical Director)
  • Experience in Rheumatology
  • Prior launch experience (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of US-specific legal, regulatory, and compliance guidelines
  • Strong scientific and clinical acumen
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills
  • Ability to identify and develop solutions to data gaps

Travel: Up to 25% travel (primarily domestic)
