This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly influence the company’s financial success and tax strategy. You’ll be providing expert-level accounting services with a focus on tax optimization and strategic financial planning for a dynamic transportation business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax preparation and filing strategies
- Provide expert tax optimization recommendations to maximize business benefits
- Oversee and review bookkeeping operations when needed
- Ensure full compliance with Canadian tax regulations and industry requirements
- Review and validate work completed by bookkeeping staff
- Provide strategic financial guidance and insights to support business decisions
- Handle complex accounting scenarios specific to the transportation industry
- Develop tax planning strategies for ongoing financial optimization
Requirements
- CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Must be experienced with Canadian tax system and regulations
- Strong knowledge of tax optimization strategies and planning
- Ability to handle both high-level accounting and detailed bookkeeping tasks
- Experience with trucking or transportation industry taxation preferred
- Excellent English communication skills
- Strategic thinking ability with attention to detail
- Comfortable working in Eastern Time zone hours
