Contractor Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial reporting process related to Revenue. The role requires ensuring accuracy and completeness of internal and external reporting, adherence to policies, preparing analyses and reports, maintaining records, supporting documentation and reconciliations. Special projects are also part of the role.

Responsibilities:

1. Support financial reporting process, including monthly close procedures.
2. Ensure accurate and complete internal and external reporting.
3. Prepare detailed financial analyses and reports.
4. Maintain financial records and supporting documentation.
5. Perform account reconciliations.
6. Support the monthly revenue recognition process.
7. Produce monthly gross margin analysis.
8. Assist in variance analysis.
9. Research technical accounting issues.
10. Help develop and implement new systems and internal controls.
11. Build relationships with partners.
12. Support the external audit process.
13. Investigate and resolve audit findings.
14. Manage ad-hoc tax inquiries.
15. Prepare support for annual corporate tax filings.
16. Support external tax consultants.
17. Proactively review procedures and seek improvements.
18. Assist in documenting and establishing a strong controls environment.
19. Perform ad-hoc requests and analyses.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of accounting experience.
• Revenue accounting experience preferred.
• Completed or pursuing a professional accounting designation (CPA).
• US GAAP knowledge an asset.
• Salesforce and NetSuite experience an asset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and complex spreadsheets.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pick up responsibilities quickly.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
