Full-Time Senior AI Modeller

Senior AI Modeller at Montu will play a pivotal role in developing and deploying cutting-edge AI-driven products.

Leveraging expertise in machine learning, including Large Language Models (LLMs), they will design, build, and optimize AI solutions. This involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, implementing rapid experimentation frameworks, and conducting rigorous evaluations.

The role also includes mentorship and coaching of other ML modellers, grounded in scientific and software engineering best practices.

1. AI/ML Product Development: Design, build, and train machine learning models (including LLMs) for AI product development, emphasizing development within shared environments and version control systems (e.g., Git). Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs).
2. Data Analysis and Preparation: Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets for model training and evaluation. Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns.
3. Rapid Experimentation and Evaluation: Implement rapid experimentation frameworks using shared platforms (e.g., ClearML). Conduct rigorous evaluations and statistical analysis, adhering to scientific best practices and thorough documentation.
4. Business Alignment and Product Opportunity Recognition: Stay aligned with business needs, identify opportunities, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business problems into AI/ML projects.
5. Coaching and Mentoring: Provide guidance and coaching to other ML modellers, sharing knowledge and best practices regarding LLMs and advanced AI techniques.
6. Research and Innovation: Stay updated on advancements in AI/ML, including LLMs, and apply them to product development, sharing research findings and code.
7. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product managers, data engineers, software developers, MLEs, and other stakeholders using shared communication and project management tools. Communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Technical Expertise: Proven experience developing machine learning models in Python, strong background in LLMs, hands-on experience with version control (Git), proficiency in statistical analysis and model evaluation. Familiarity with cloud computing (GCP AI/ML services).

Mindset & Soft Skills: Passion for AI innovation, ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences, strong problem-solving skills, and experience mentoring junior team members.
