Full-Time Senior Android Software Engineer

Skylight’s mission is to build the OS of the family. We make consumer products, loved by millions globally. We are scaling rapidly, seeking a highly experienced Android Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Work with firmware engineers to implement Kotlin solutions for custom hardware.
• Own and support health check utility app and new version installations.
• Support Android team architectural direction, improving codebase and tooling.
• Implement best practices in Android build/deployment.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to create new features.
• Develop high-quality, reusable, maintainable Kotlin code.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test suites.
• Optimize application performance and enhance user experience.
• Ensure scalability of Android architecture.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to performance monitoring, device logs, and exception handling processes.

Requirements

• 6+ years native Android application development experience.
• Expertise in Kotlin and Android SDK.
• Strong understanding of Android application architecture and design patterns.
• Expertise in release management.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Passion for staying current in Android trends.

Salary Range

Colorado-based: $210,000 - $233,000. California-based: $210,000 - $233,000.
