Full-Time Senior Backend Engineer

GT is seeking a Senior GoLang Engineer for a mission-critical role in aerospace and defense.

About the Client: A cutting-edge Aerospace and Defense company committed to innovative, secure solutions for clients.

About the Project: Building an AI-driven collaborative framework for the CI/CD of defense hardware and software.

Responsibilities:

• Secure Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain secure backend services and APIs using Go.
• Scalable System Architecture: Contribute to distributed system design focused on reliability, fault tolerance, and scalability.
• Data Modeling & Compliance: Design robust data models with focus on performance, auditability, and security (e.g., Postgres).
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Leverage GCP services for resilient, scalable infrastructure meeting compliance standards.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Manage services using Kubernetes.
• Event-Driven Systems: Build real-time systems leveraging Redis Pub/Sub, Kafka.
• Security & Compliance: Implement security-first practices (DoD/FedRAMP/NIST).
• Performance Tuning: Optimize systems for uptime and responsiveness.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with product managers, systems engineers, and QA.
• Code Quality & Review: Participate in rigorous code reviews.
• Documentation: Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years backend engineering experience (high-availability/security preferred).
• Strong background in engineering, mathematics.
• Experience with backend data analytics systems.
• Proficiency in Go and microservices.
• Strong GCP, Kubernetes, containerization, CI/CD experience.
• Solid Postgres and scalable data modeling knowledge.
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Redis).
• Working experience in regulated environments (aerospace, defense).
• Strong software security, encryption, and authentication understanding.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Working Hours: Overlap with MST timezone for at least 4 working hours.
