Full-Time Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role: We're seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer. You'll design, build, and maintain our backend systems, including authentication, payment processing, AI logic, feature management, and data processing. Collaboration is key, as is delivering scalable solutions, optimizing performance, and enhancing the user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to and take co-ownership of our backend infrastructure (authentication, payments, AI, features, data).
• Design and build backend solutions.
• Improve performance and focus on quality.
• Wear many hats – work across different areas (e.g., partner commission dashboards, custom reports, internal APIs, GCP infrastructure).

Tech Stack: TypeScript, NodeJS, Express, NestJS, NoSQL (Firestore), SQL (PostgreSQL), Nx (monorepo), Angular, TailwindCSS, Terraform, GitHub, Datadog, Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, PubSub, BigQuery, Scheduler, Cloud Endpoints, Firestore).

Requirements:

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services.
• Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture.
• Mentoring code quality, standards, best practices, and software design.
• Product-minded, collaborative, and initiative-driven.
• Excellent communication (written & oral).

Location: Fully remote (EST ± 3 hours).

Salary Range: $120,000 CAD to $170,000 CAD (negotiable).
