We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Building Consulting team in San Francisco / the Bay Area. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional project managers and estimators.
The ideal person will need a strong grasp of property damage evaluation, be flexible and a strategic thinker, and able to take on a variety of tasks. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5+ years of estimating experience and/or work experience in the restoration, insurance, and remediation field, with responsibilities for estimating large commercial complex losses.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate the impact of disasters (floods, fires, or storms) on structures and environments, assess risks, vulnerabilities, and potential damage to determine effective preventive measures.
- Actively minimize damage during emergencies by deploying resources, coordinating evacuation procedures, and safeguarding critical infrastructure.
- Oversee day-to-day operations at project sites, ensure smooth work progress, meet deadlines, and maintain quality standards.
- Allocate resources efficiently (labor, materials, equipment), coordinate with teams, manage schedules, and troubleshoot issues.
- Interface with clients (adjusters, brokers, insureds, etc.)
- Schedule and perform field inspections and site visits to evaluate the scope of work/damage.
- Estimate medium to large commercial and residential projects using Xactimate, CoreLogic, RS Mean, etc.
- Document, review, and analyze schedules, contracts, change orders, correspondence, daily reports, meeting minutes, monthly reports, and additional project/file documents.
- Collaborate with Business Development Managers to develop new business opportunities and nurture client relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or associate degree or 5 years demonstrable experience in restoration
- Proficiency in Xactimate, CoreLogic, RS Means, or other estimating software
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Project management skills, strong analysis and critical thinking skills, ability to meet deadlines, detail-oriented
- Strong independent work ethic and leadership skills, exceptional customer service
- Physically able to conduct inspections, write reports, potential exposure to UV radiation, radon, or other air pollution
- Willingness to travel 30% (locally, out-of-state, CAT response)

Salary
$90,000 - $110,000 (negotiable)
