The Senior Business Applications Project Manager is responsible for overseeing complex, cross-functional initiatives related to the implementation, enhancement, and optimization of enterprise business applications.
This role leads high-impact projects across multiple business units, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.
The Senior Business Applications Project Manager partners with senior leadership, business stakeholders, IT, and application teams to drive successful outcomes, ensure business readiness, and deliver long-term value.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead strategic, high-visibility projects related to business systems (ERP, CRM, etc.)
- Drive all aspects of the project lifecycle (scope definition, planning, execution, change management, benefits realization)
- Develop detailed project and program roadmaps
- Collaborate with teams to gather requirements, identify dependencies, and define success criteria
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and issues
- Prepare executive-level communications, dashboards, and presentations
- Foster a culture of ownership and accountability
- Champion best practices in project delivery (Agile/Hybrid), and business process improvement
- Conduct lessons learned and continuous improvement activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field
- 7+ years of experience leading business application or IT projects
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or comparable certification
- Experience managing enterprise-level programs or portfolios
- Demonstrated success managing multi-system initiatives
- Proven ability to manage initiatives with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication and influence skills
- Expertise in project management frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Experience using Jira and Confluence
- Strong knowledge of business systems and processes
- Vendor relationship management experience
- Resource planning, financial tracking, and benefits realization skills
