ClickHouse is an open-source column-oriented database system, used by enterprises globally.
About the Team
The Cloud Performance Engineering team builds cloud native ClickHouse Cloud Platform. We are looking for performance engineers with a background in database benchmarking, test automation, system engineering, performance analysis, and capacity management.
What will you do?
- Benchmark system performance, database performance analysis, capacity sizing and optimization.
- Troubleshoot and debug application and server errors.
- Recommend configuration tuning/optimizations.
- Work closely with ClickHouse core development team.
- Plan, enable, and drive Chaos initiatives.
- Develop, deploy and manage tools to run chaos experiments.
- Study the problems in the software resilience, operational, and delivery spaces.
- Extend our entire backend to enable Chaos Engineering techniques.
- Observe running systems, and determine/prioritize innovative ways to disrupt them.
About you:
- 6+ years of software development experience building distributed systems.
- Software development experience in Go, C/C++, Java, or similar.
- Experience with concurrency, multithreading, and distributed system architectures
- Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
- Experience leading technical projects in collaboration with engineers.
- Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem solver with production debugging skills.
- Passionate about efficiency, availability, scalability and data governance.
- Thrive in a fast paced environment.
