J.S. Held is seeking a Senior Consultant for the Construction Advisory Team in the Boston, MA area.
Specializing in schedule development and maintenance. This position requires knowledge of contract/change order management, critical path scheduling, change order/claims preparation, cost analysis, damage quantification, drawing/specification review, and other engineering/construction documents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior scheduling experience on active construction in commercial/mixed-use developments.
- Experience with highway, heavy civil, rail, pharmaceutical, energy, institution, or federal projects (beneficial, but not necessary).
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and analyze construction schedules, job cost reports, labor records, production quantities, earned values, project reports, change orders, contracts, correspondence, estimating, and other project records.
- Develop and maintain project schedules in Oracle Primavera P6.
- Lead coordination with clients to engage in schedule development and maintenance.
- Evaluate quality, progress, and risks of CPM schedules.
- Communicate observations on quality, progress, and risks (verbally and in writing).
- Create, maintain, and publish schedule KPI reports.
- Perform and present schedule delay analysis.
- Assess scope changes to project schedules.
- Calculate loss of productivity/efficiency.
- Estimate/analyze labor, equipment, materials, general conditions, and indirect costs.
- Determine escalation costs of material/labor.
- Establish costs of extended general conditions and requirements.
- Quantify unabsorbed home office overhead costs.
- Review and organize project documents.
- Produce work products, draft memos, presentations, and reports.
- Travel to project sites and client offices (as needed).
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience with construction firms, scheduling firms, or construction claim/dispute firms.
- 2+ years of scheduling responsibility using Oracle Primavera P6 or equivalent software.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
Other Requirements:
- Analytical aptitudes and attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Estimating experience preferred (not necessary).
- Bluebeam or other PDF management software experience.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (advanced preferred).
- Resident of or near Boston, MA.
