Full-Time Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor

Turner & Townsend seeks an experienced Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor for a global technology client's data center construction program.

Responsibilities:

1. Estimating and negotiating change orders.
2. Preparing cost plans and estimates during the design phase.
3. Providing commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering exercises.
4. Reviewing contractor and subcontractor pricing, leading negotiations for fair contract prices.
5. Performing quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Ensuring effective management of post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
7. Producing monthly cost reports for client presentation.
8. Negotiating and agreeing on final accounts in a timely manner.
9. Developing cost plans and estimates, providing updates at design milestones.
10. Reconciling changes, assisting the general contractor to ensure accurate data.
11. Communicating with general contractor and owner project manager.
12. Preparing written comments on general contractor submissions.
13. Coordinating cost information sources and communicating with suppliers.
14. Informing and driving engineering priorities based on cost impact.
15. Resolving scheduling issues proactively.
16. Managing cost checks and valuations on larger projects.
17. Participating in post-contract cost variance and change control processes.
18. Managing cost impact/contingency management, and commitment tracking logs.
19. Preparing funding data presentations and coordinating value engineering sessions with stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Experience: Construction cost management role, full lifecycle cost management in commercial real estate, large/high-value data center/mission-critical projects, leading cost management on medium to large construction projects.
• Education: College/post-graduate degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or related field.
• Skills: Strong communication, client-facing experience, negotiation skills.
• Certifications: RICS accreditation (preferred but not required).
• Knowledge: Construction industry technical matters, different procurement routes, value management, value engineering, SOX controls (if applicable).
