Full-Time Senior Data Engineer

This role requires a Senior Data engineer that can develop and maintain data processing pipelines in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or any other cloud service.

The role expects both software development skills and a willingness to learn and understand the marketing and business needs to support the Publicis Groupe.

The data engineer should be able to work closely with product management and stakeholders to collaborate on building the best solutions for the agency and client.

Responsibilities:

• Write ETL packages and database code based on business requirements or user stories, architectural requirements, and existing code.
 • Modify and improve data engineering processes to handle ever larger, more complex, and more types of data sources and pipelines.
 • Responsible for system performance of the data tier and the reliability of data feeds across the entire solution.
 • Ownership of the whole data life cycle.
 • Work as part of the data processing team and on performance tuning and optimization, query optimization, index tuning, caching, buffer tuning and data archiving strategies.
 • Estimate and plan development work, track and report on task progress, and deliver work on schedule.
 • Participate in weekly on-call rotation.

Core Skill Set

• Experience: 3-4 years backend software development experience
• Experience with ETL and data management development
• Degree: Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent experience
• Programming Languages: Python, SQL
• Database: SQL, experience with GCP BigQuery or similar big databases is a plus.
• Experiencie with at least 1 data visualization tool (PowerBI, Tableau,Looker)
• Advanced Excel for data processing. 
• English level (spoken and written): B2+
