ATPCO is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team tackling exciting data challenges in the airline industry. This role uses AI/ML/Data Science solutions, leveraging hundreds of terabytes of data daily and AWS technologies. You'll help shape airline pricing and demand analytics, transforming vast datasets into actionable insights. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to product innovation and enhancing the airline industry's data ecosystem. This role is for those passionate about solving complex challenges optimizing airline operations and pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Data Strategy & Pipelines: Lead data gathering, cleaning, and preprocessing from various sources (S3, Redshift, MySQL, APIs). Design and optimize robust data pipelines for high quality data.
- Innovative Algorithm & Model Development: Design, develop, and fine-tune predictive models to forecast demand/market trends using deep learning, reinforcement learning, and statistical methods. Develop algorithms for detecting market dynamics (pricing undercuts, competitive shifts, demand anomalies).
- Machine Learning Optimization & Production Deployment: Integrate machine learning techniques to streamline data collection and improve delivery. Oversee model deployment, ensuring seamless integration with real-time decision-making systems. Collaborate with engineers/DevOps to maintain optimal model performance and adaptation to changing data.
- Strategic Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure data-driven insights align with strategic business goals. Mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Provide technical leadership in evaluating advanced models, establishing best practices, and continuously improving model development/validation. Monitor emerging trends in data science/AI to stay competitive.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven Senior-Level Expertise: Extensive data science experience in developing/deploying advanced predictive models, particularly with time series/structured/unstructured data. Prior experience in leadership, mentoring, and guiding technical teams.
- Advanced Technical Proficiency: Mastery of SQL and advanced programming in Python/R. Deep familiarity with data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy) and machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn). Strong understanding of statistical methods, ML algorithms, and time series analysis.
- Expertise in Cloud & Big Data Technologies: Experience with cloud platforms and big data technologies (Apache Spark, AWS Redshift, AWS SageMaker) for scalable model deployment and data processing.
- Strategic Communication & Visualization: Excellent communication skills articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences (including non-technical stakeholders) and using data visualization tools (Tableau, AWS QuickSight, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
- Domain-Specific Experience: Familiarity with airline industry pricing/revenue management/distribution/network planning challenges.
Educational Background: Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Airline Management or related field with emphasis on AI/machine learning.
Salary Range: $117,700 – $155,700
