The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to lead the management and evolution of our geo-distributed data platform. This platform operates across multiple cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Linode) and on-premise infrastructure, serving high-volume traffic with strict reliability requirements. The ideal candidate will drive automation initiatives, establish robust operational processes, and maintain high standards for system availability and performance.
What You Will Do:
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure across multiple cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Linode) and on-premise environments
- Lead automation initiatives for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment
- Architect and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
- Establish and enforce security best practices across all infrastructure components
- Design and maintain comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Drive continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices and tooling
- Collaborate cross-functionally with development teams, product managers, and operations staff
- Develop and document operational procedures for deployment, management, and troubleshooting
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and practices to improve platform capabilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- 10+ years of experience in designing and managing large-scale distributed systems
- Demonstrated expertise in:
- Multi-cloud environment management (AWS, GCP, Linode)
- On-premise infrastructure operations
- Python and shell scripting
- Linux systems administration (particularly Ubuntu)
- System logging analysis and performance optimization
- Object-oriented design and complexity analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellence in incident analysis and root cause determination
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives
- Experience with on-premises Kubernetes deployments preferred
- Expertise in Python preferred
- Experience with large-scale distributed data platforms preferred
