Full-Time Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS CDK)

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with expertise in cloud system design, development, deployment, and operations to join our dynamic team.

• Infrastructure as Code - Build infrastructure as code with the AWS CDK using TypeScript.
• Containerisation - Provision cloud-based infrastructure for deploying, managing, and scaling software applications.
• Deployment Pipelines - Design, build, and support effective CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaboration - Work with various teams to understand and fulfil their development and integration needs.
• Ongoing maintenance - Maintain system stability and enforce security measures.
• System optimisation - Optimise system deployments to balance performance, cost, and security concerns.
• Observability – Expand advanced system monitoring and alerting capabilities.
• Troubleshooting - Actively troubleshoot and resolve system alerts, failures, and operational inefficiencies.
• Testing and Diagnostics - Support system and software testing and debugging.
• Integrations - Integrate cloud-based resources and networks with local and distributed infrastructure.
• Documentation - Maintain documentation for system architecture, processes, and workflows.
• Continuous Improvement - Continuously evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve infrastructure and support processes.
• Security - Good understand of the risks to web-based applications. Ensure robust cloud and network security practices are in place and continuously improved.

• AWS - Extensive experience with AWS services, especially ECS, RDS, and Lambda.
• Infrastructure-as-Code - Proficient in Typescript and AWS CDK for infrastructure management.
• Typescript or similar - Proficient in common code quality tools and test frameworks.
• Containerization - Strong experience with Docker and AWS ECS.
• CI/CD - Experience with Bitbucket / Bitbucket Pipelines and Github / Github Actions.
• Global Deployment - Experience deploying services in multiple AWS regions.
• Databases - Solid understanding of MySQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB.
• Observability - Experience managing and maintaining observability tools in multiple regions.
• Security - Deep knowledge of cloud and network security best practices.
• Technical influencing - Ability to drive discussions to good technical outcomes.
• Collaboration - Excellent cross-team and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• DevOps Practices - Solid understanding of DevOps practices and methodologies.

• Certifications - AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional or similar certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or another related field.
• Automation - Experience with automation tools and scripting.
• Performance Tuning - Skills in optimizing application and infrastructure performance.
• Problem Solving - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
