Contractor Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure)

We are looking for a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of Azure-based systems.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and manage scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
2. Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
3. Establish and optimise CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and other relevant tools to automate software deployment.
4. Implement and manage containerized applications using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and orchestrate containers using Docker and Kubernetes.
5. Implement Infrastructure as Code principles to define and manage infrastructure resources.
6. Set up monitoring and logging solutions using Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and other relevant tools to ensure the health and performance of Azure resources.
7. Implement security measures and best practices for Azure resources, ensuring a secure and compliant infrastructure.
8. Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to understand requirements and implement effective cloud solutions.
9. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and ensure the resilience of Azure-based systems.
10. Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimise Azure resources, and implement best practices for efficiency.
11. Create and maintain technical documentation for Azure infrastructure, deployment processes, and best practices.
12. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

What we are looking for:

• 5+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Azure.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure services and architecture.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools (ARM templates, Terraform).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to have:

• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) are a plus.
