Full-Time Senior Director of Engineering - FX

Visa is seeking an experienced Sr. Director of FX Engineering to lead specialized engineering teams across multiple locations in Europe. This individual will act as a key technology leader to provide oversight in building the next generation FX systems for customer-facing operations. The successful candidate will ensure FX systems support an innovative product for trading operations across multiple segments and trading flows. This includes systems to convert currencies, operate the industry-leading FX platform, and provide value-added services based on local market needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Vision: Lead, support, and mentor Directors and Engineering Managers. Ensure growth and retention of top management and engineering talent. Drive design and delivery of cloud-native, scalable, resilient, and secure applications. Advocate for and implement strategic technological decisions aligning with business goals.
• Technical Strategy and Implementation: Oversee development and deployment of high-throughput, low-latency applications. Leverage AI/ML technologies to enhance productivity and develop innovative solutions.
• Project and Stakeholder Management: Manage cross-functional priorities, maintain strong stakeholder relationships, and lead significant projects focusing on continuous delivery, infrastructure automation, and security.
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Promote a collaborative culture by delegating tasks and enabling team growth. Share knowledge and best practices to drive a shared strategic approach. Foster cross-team collaboration to maximize output and achieve strategic goals.
• Operational Excellence: Maintain and improve technical excellence. Ensure efficient processes and ease of release. Stay abreast of contemporary security trends. Establish engineering best practices.
• Strategy and Communication: Work on business strategy, collaborate with product management, and effectively communicate technical strategy and solutions to leadership. Communicate risks, successes, and learnings.
• Domain Knowledge: Be competent in technical aspects, product offering, and customer usage.
• Budget Management: Manage personnel costs, develop and maintain relationships with providers.

Basic Qualifications: Relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, advanced degree, or PhD.

Preferred Qualifications: FX domain experience, cloud application design/development experience, backend technologies proficiency.

Additional Requirements: Continuous delivery and DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, leadership, and communication skills. Domain experience in cross-border money movement and payment technologies.
