About the Role As a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer, you'll play a key role in product development, focusing on Linux device setup using prototypes from our global manufacturing partner. You'll drive technical decisions and collaborate with a team building robust, efficient systems.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate emerging technologies to improve system capabilities and create technical specifications.
- Guide system design from prototype to production.
- Develop and maintain firmware for embedded Linux systems.
- Establish testing frameworks for system validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine firmware requirements.
- Design and implement integration procedures for new hardware components.
- Conduct compatibility tests and troubleshoot issues.
- Keep hardware documentation current.
- Analyze power consumption patterns and refine architectures to reduce power usage.
- Establish power performance benchmarks.
- Enhance software performance on cost-effective hardware and apply code optimization strategies.
- Examine manufacturing processes to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Experience: 5+ years with embedded Linux system development and 3+ years with firmware development
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded Linux systems; hands-on experience in configuring wireless devices; expertise in power management; ability to design testing frameworks; knowledge of embedded systems architecture; proficiency with embedded tools (debuggers, oscilloscopes); experience designing systems from prototype to production; experience optimizing for cost and power; effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changes.
Additional Qualifications: Willingness and ability to travel to Asia for collaboration with partners (roughly once a quarter for a week).
