Full-Time Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the RoleAbnormal Security seeks an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to lead key areas of the Inbound Email Portal team for Messaging Security Products. The team manages Abnormal's primary Inbound Email Security products and features (Threat Log UI, Dashboard, Security Analyst Platform). The goal is to improve the detection engine by enhancing stability, scalability, and customer impact.

This new team focuses on customer-facing portals, dashboards, and other components. Responsibility spans both frontend and backend, with a 70% backend and 30% frontend focus.

What you will do

• Own key deliverables from end-to-end within the quarterly roadmap and divisional SLAs/SLOs.
• Collaborate with Engineering Manager and Product Manager to craft the roadmap.
• Architect efficient and reusable systems for complex web applications.
• Implement features and user interfaces to demonstrate Abnormal's value.
• Identify and resolve performance and UI issues.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Raise engineering standards through knowledge sharing and professional development.
• Contribute effectively from day one.

Must Haves

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years experience designing and building complex full-stack web applications
• 1+ year experience as a tech/team lead
• Advanced proficiency in React/Redux (or similar) and JS, TypeScript
• Expert proficiency in Python and Golang
• Growth mindset and desire for increased responsibility

Nice to Haves

• MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Familiarity with backend stack (Django, Postgres/MySQL, Node.js, Celery, Kafka, AWS)
• Experience in Startup or Cybersecurity environments

Compensation

• Base pay range: $176,000 - $207,050 USD (San Francisco/New York: $195,500 - $230,000 USD)
