Full-Time Senior Geologist

Senior Geologist/Geological Engineer is required to establish work schedules and coordinate activities with Clients and Technical Staff.

Responsibilities:

• Implement planning, scheduling, and coordination for project execution and control.
• Prepare technical reports per National Instrument 43-101.
• Implement novel methodologies in conceptual, pre-feasibility, feasibility, and operational projects.
• Develop strong knowledge and experience in drilling campaigns, mine planning, project planning, scheduling, and controlling of mining operations.
• Manage open-cut mines in high rainfall areas, and contract mining.
• Utilize modeling software (Genesis, Gems, Surpac, Datamine, Excel).
• Manage field teams (drillers, technicians).
• Supervise crews and contractors.
• Manage all aspects of drilling programs.
• Develop geological models.
• Establish and maintain client relationships.
• Compose clear and concise technical reports.
• Communicate significant issues related to operations, environmental management, and safety.
• Possible travel to other SGS laboratory locations in Canada or overseas.
• Coordinate special or ad hoc projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
• 12+ years of experience in geology.
• University degree in Science or Engineering with preference for Geosciences.
• 5+ years technical experience in geosciences with business/personnel management aspects.
• Expert knowledge of the mining and minerals industry.
• Professional Geologist/Engineer registration (QP for NI 43-101).
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Capable of operating without close supervision.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in other languages (French, Spanish, Russian, etc.) as needed.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions safely, accurately, and timely.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and composition.
• Proficient in computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, AutoCAD).
• Understanding of MS Project Management and Oracle applications is a plus.
• Proficient with specialized software (GEOSTAT, GEMCOM, SURPAC, DATAMINE, SURPAC MINEX).
• Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects.
• Ability to work well with others and independently.
• Proven time management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to handle extended hours and shift work.
• Valid and up-to-date passport (travel is expected).
