Senior IT Cloud Operations Engineering Specialist
Who you are: The Senior IT Cloud Operations Engineering Specialist is integral in the ongoing evolution and reinforcement of Geotab's complex, globally distributed cloud infrastructure. You uniquely navigate the intersection of innovation and stability, leading the charge in strategic infrastructure development to ensure the seamless integration and optimization of Geotab's SaaS solution. Refine existing systems and implement advanced methodologies for automation, prioritizing system performance, scalability, and resilience while upholding paramount considerations for cost efficiency and robust security measures.
What you'll do: Support high-transaction, globally distributed cloud infrastructure. Develop infrastructure for deploying and managing Geotab's SaaS solution. Work closely with Technical Services teams. Maintain cloud operations focusing on servers and infrastructure management, cost optimization, and security. Refine existing systems, implement automation, prioritize performance, scalability, and resilience; consider cost efficiency and security. Incorporate AI into cloud operations to enhance automation, optimize performance, and ensure scalable and resilient infrastructure. Provide proactive 24/7 support for production and disaster recovery data center operations.
How you'll make an impact: Implement automated deployment strategies for patches and upgrades to reduce downtime and ensure a seamless update process. Develop predictive monitoring systems using AI/ML algorithms to proactively troubleshoot issues. Implement new and optimize existing infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to automate server provisioning and configuration. Implement comprehensive data governance frameworks using advanced monitoring tools and AI-driven analytics. Establish self-healing mechanisms and fault-tolerant architecture to minimize manual intervention. Introduce machine learning models to predict resource lifecycle needs.
What you'll bring: Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; 5-8 years experience in IT/Cloud Operations; Mastery of advanced Cloud technologies (e.g., Google Cloud Platform or AWS); Advanced proficiency in diverse Linux and Windows environments; expertise in Database Administration; Proficiency in advanced version control systems (e.g., GitHub); Mastery in scripting languages (Bash Shell, PowerShell, Python); Proven track record in managing multiple complex projects; exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
