Job Description: Mirantis is seeking a talented DevOps engineer experienced in Kubernetes and public clouds to contribute to product evolution and expansion, focusing on the intersection of DevOps and QA engineering. The role will involve designing, deploying, and testing Mirantis's k0rdent product and other K8S-related products on top of open-source components.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy, test, and evaluate Mirantis k0rdent and other K8S-related products.
- Research, develop, and implement CI/CD tooling to ensure product functionality and performance.
- Participate in designing and developing tools for deploying K8S environments.
- Provide recommendations based on test results to Mirantis development teams and the open-source community.
- Engage in requirement, design, planning, and retrospective meetings.
- Participate in planning, estimation, and prioritization of product features.
- Collaborate effectively with a geographically distributed Agile team.
- Assist with customer issue resolution.
Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding and experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- DevOps engineering experience, including understanding of CI/CD aspects.
- 3+ years of practical experience in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) as a server platform.
- Deep understanding of OS, debugging, tuning underperforming systems, and troubleshooting hardware issues.
- Experience with version control systems (Git), and code review systems (Gerrit or GerritHub).
- Hands-on experience with public clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and focus on results.
- Upper-intermediate English (spoken and written).
- Golang experience is a plus.
- Experience with Kubernetes cluster management tooling (Rancher, Gardener, Tanzu) is a plus.
- Open-source development experience is a plus.
- Experience with instrumenting and using monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) for system health analysis is a plus.
- Knowledge of OpenStack and VMware ecosystems is a plus.
- Experience with high-load systems is a plus.
